JSON All-in-One vs JSON Viewer Pro
These are both more than syntax highlighters. Viewer Pro documents Tree and Chart views, editing, and JSON/YAML/XML imports. The right choice depends on the query, format, and output you need after opening a document.
This comparison is written by JSON All-in-One. Capability descriptions come from each publisher's store listing; "not documented" does not mean "unavailable." The separate browser benchmark below tests specific delivered versions and one generated JSON workload, not every feature or file shape.
Choose by the next action
| Task | JSON All-in-One | JSON Viewer Pro (Addonise) |
|---|---|---|
| Inspect and edit | Tree/source workspace and editing | Tree view, editor, breadcrumbs, and path copying in its listing |
| Find or transform | JQ transformations and JSONPath selection | Path navigation prompt is listed; that does not establish the same semantics as JQ or a general JSONPath evaluator |
| Input formats | JSON, JSONC, NDJSON, NDJSONC | Local JSON, YAML, and XML import is listed |
| Visualize | Data charts from selected JSON values | Tree and Chart views are listed; chart types and data-selection behavior are not compared here |
| Output | JSON and format-specific exports; generated code models | JSON download is listed; comparable export formats and codegen are not documented in the store overview |
In particular, YAML/XML import in Pro is not the same task as YAML/XML export in JSON All-in-One. A path prompt is not automatically a JQ evaluator, and a Chart label does not prove identical chart workflows. Check Pro's store description.
Four tasks to test with your own data
- Open: try a strict JSON response first, then the specific YAML/XML or JSONC/NDJSON input you actually have. These formats are not interchangeable.
- Find: locate one nested value, then ask whether you need path navigation, JSONPath selection, or a JQ transformation. Use a worked JQ filter.
- Change and visualize: edit a value, reopen the saved result, and check the chart against the source. Neither a Tree nor a Chart view alone proves the saved value is exact.
- Handoff: name the required output before choosing: downloaded JSON, a CSV table, or generated code. See export formats and code-generation guides.
This is a task checklist, not a report that both products completed each operation in our test.
What the large-file test actually showed
With the same deterministic 1 GB JSON array served over local HTTP, JSON All-in-One 1.0.9 completed ingestion and a nested expand/collapse interaction in 3/3 attempts. JSON Viewer Pro 1.0.7 crashed during rendering in 2/2. At 300 MB, Pro displayed a blank view after an invalid-string-length error in 3/3 attempts. This does not establish the cause of the crashes or describe Pro's editing, chart, and export performance. Pro was not tested at 2 GB. See the method, caveats, and all runs.
Do not collapse precision into one checkmark
Pro's project repository mentions a fix for display of numbers above JavaScript's safe-integer boundary. That is useful context, not proof of exact arithmetic, round-trip export, or equivalence to the current store binary. JSON All-in-One likewise distinguishes preserved source literals from calculations and downstream formats. For important values, test view, edit, query, and export separately using 9007199254740993 and a long decimal. Read the precision guide.
Free use and local access
Pro's store listing calls it free and ad-free. JSON All-in-One offers every feature in Freemium; an optional lifetime license removes reminders. Both publishers make privacy statements, but this page does not claim an independent network audit or that one product is inherently safer. For JSON All-in-One, core document work runs locally; optional configured AI and image fetching can contact external endpoints when invoked. Direct file:// viewing needs browser permission. Sources and limits
Competitor listing reviewed on October 8, 2026 (JSON Viewer Pro, version 1.0.7 as displayed). Store descriptions are publisher claims and can change. The separate browser benchmark used Chrome Web Store-delivered packages loaded unpacked with unchanged runtime files in fresh Chrome for Testing profiles. It measured one deterministic large-file viewing task and a separate number-display fixture; it did not audit security or establish general performance rankings.
