Compare JSON extensions by the work you need to do
A readable API response may be the whole job. Or you may need to edit a value, run JQ, compare two files, make a chart, or export rows. Start with the task, then read the specific product comparison.
Callum Locke's extension focuses on making browser JSON responses easy to read. Choose this comparison when you are deciding whether editing, JQ, diff, and export belong in the same workspace.
Addonise documents Tree and Chart views, editing, and local imports. Choose this comparison to examine query semantics, input formats, exports, and code generation without calling Pro a basic viewer.
Check the output format and shape you need, not a generic export checkmark. Browse the export guides.
One reproducible large-file test
On October 8, 2026, we opened the same deterministic root-array JSON over local HTTP in fresh Chrome for Testing profiles. At 1 GB, JSON All-in-One 1.0.9 finished full ingestion and a nested expand/collapse interaction in 3/3 attempts. JSON Formatter 0.10.2, JSONVue 0.2.3, and JSON Viewer Pro 1.0.7 each crashed during rendering in 2/2 attempts. At 2 GB, JSON All-in-One completed ingestion in 4/4 attempts, but the post-load interaction was confirmed in only 2/4; the other two timed out without a confirmed cause. Competitors were not tested at 2 GB.
These results concern this fixture, route, machine, and versions. The crashes were not diagnosed as out-of-memory failures, and viewing does not prove query or export performance. Read the public method and limitations or inspect the compact per-run data.
Our task comparisons and this narrow benchmark answer different questions. Test your own document shape and next operation before choosing a viewer.
