Free online JSON to XML converter

Inspect the XML mapping of a nested purchase order. Open your JSON locally, then inspect the format-specific output and download the full artifact.

Privacy-first processing: pasted or opened JSON stays in this browser tab and is not uploaded to our servers.

Format: XMLExport uses the product workbench

Paste JSON or Drag and Drop your file.

Purchase order JSON

{
  "purchaseOrder": {
    "number": "PO-44",
    "supplier": "North & East",
    "items": [
      {
        "sku": "X-7",
        "qty": 2
      }
    ]
  }
}

Operation

Map nested JSON objects and arrays into XML elements.

  • Format: XML
  • Root element: root
  • Array item element: item

Expected XML

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<root>
  <purchaseOrder>
    <number>PO-44</number>
    <supplier>North &amp; East</supplier>
    <items>
      <item>
        <sku>X-7</sku>
        <qty>2</qty>
      </item>
    </items>
  </purchaseOrder>
</root>

Caveat: The ampersand is escaped as XML text; namespaces and schemas are not inferred.

Format constraints

The engine supplies a root element and its JSON-to-XML mapping. It does not infer a schema, namespace, or receiver contract.

Opening a large file and exporting it are separate operations. Output size and compatibility depend on the source shape and the selected format.
