JSON ALL-IN-ONE / BROWSER TOOL
Minify JSON online, without uploading it
Need a smaller text payload? This free online JSON minifier removes indentation and layout whitespace while leaving string contents and numeric tokens intact. Paste or open the file, then choose Download as single line.
Use json minify or minify json when the receiver still expects plain JSON. The result is smaller text, not a new file format or a promise about network transfer size.
What gets smaller?
Indentation, line breaks, and spaces between JSON tokens disappear. Spaces inside strings, escaped characters, and the exact spelling of numbers stay. Compare byte sizes on your own payload; already compact data may barely shrink.
JSONC line and block comments are removed from the compact download. For NDJSON or JSONL, the opened records are downloaded as one JSON array rather than concatenated into invalid JSON.
Try a real shape
The page opens with an empty editor. You can use your own file, or load a small example before trying the two download styles.

Is minified JSON the same as compressed JSON?
Minified JSON is still plain text. It removes formatting whitespace, not repeated data, and it does not create a compressed archive. Use gzip or another transport encoding separately if your receiver supports it.
Can I keep JSON minified and make it readable later?
Yes. A minified JSON document remains plain JSON; open it again and use Download pretty-print when a human needs to inspect it. JSON compress and compress JSON describe whitespace removal here, not gzip, ZIP, or encryption.
Does it keep comments?
No. A compact download removes // line comments and /* ... */ block comments outside strings. A URL such as https://example.org/a or comment-looking text inside a quoted string stays unchanged.
Where is my file processed?
Privacy-first processing happens locally in this browser tab. The tool does not upload your pasted or opened JSON to our servers; the page itself still loads normal site assets and may use site analytics.
